LIPOSOME: PROPRIETARY DERMAL DELIVERY TECHNOLOGY

A liposome is a spherical vesicle having at least one lipid bilayer. The liposome can be used as a vehicle for administration of nutrients and pharmaceutical drugs. The fatty composition of liposomes facilitates movement into tissues that recognize molecules as beneficial substances. The liposome transdermal delivery system supplies active ingredients via the skin and is a primary pathway for a stable supply of nutrients across the stratum corneum (top layer) into the dermis (inner layer of the skin). The strong barrier properties of the stratum corneum often limit the effectiveness of delivery. For effective delivery of beneficial nutrition into the skin cells, the barrier functions of the skin must be permeated. Both actives and the latest expensive peptides ingredients are only as good as the delivery system used to introduce them into the deeper skin layers.

The “bricks and mortar” architecture of the human skin’s stratum corneum (outer layers), prevents the invasion of bacteria and viruses into the body. This defense mechanism also prevents the active ingredients in about 99% of existing skincare products from entering the dermis (inner layers of the skin), rendering existing products marginally effective.

Most of the skin care products cannot penetrate the top layer (epithelium). To penetrate the stratum corneum, a molecule must be of low molecular weight, oil, and water soluble and have a low boiling point. Liposome transdermal delivery manipulates the intercellular pathways allowing larger, more unstable molecules (such as ascorbic acid) to be delivered to deeper target cells in the epidermal and dermal layers, maximizing benefit and effect.

Exquis sets itself apart with cutting-edge skincare research and technology. The advanced liposome technology utilized in Exquis skincare products provides a vastly superior method of active ingredient delivery. This breakthrough method allows active natural ingredients to penetrate through the outer layers of the skin (epidermis) to reach the inner layers of the skin (dermis). Exquis liposome bilayers can then fuse with other bilayers such as the cell membrane and deliver the liposome contents to the skin.

Consistent with future trends in skincare, preservatives used in Exquis products do not contain parabens or formaldehyde-releasing agents. Exquis skincare products address a widespread consumer need for an effective, high-performance skincare solution that treats the effects of stress, aging and other minor skin ailments.  Ideal for all skin types, ethnicities, and genders.  Made in the USA.

THE IMPACT OF NUTRITION ON THE SKIN

Skin is constantly under construction; developing good nutritional habits will keep it repaired and healthy. Many of the best foods for healthy skin are also beneficial to overall health and should include a variety of fruits and vegetables, lean protein foods, whole grain carbohydrates, low fat dairy products and all plant-based foods.

The main function of the skin is to act as a barrier to infection and disease. The skin works hard to protect our bodies,Although external factors can negatively impact the skin’s condition and impair its ability to defend against harmful substances. Skin changes are often the first visible manifestation of the aging process, defect, or disease. Proper nutrition is one of the most important factors associated with reducing the occurrence of skin disease and promoting healing. Micro-nutrients, including vitamins and minerals, are essential components of skin structure and function for daily maintenance. An impaired nutritional status alters structural integrity and biology, resulting in an abnormal skin barrier.

A primary cause of skin aging is exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation in sunlight.  Other lifestyle factors such as dehydration, malnutrition, smoking, stress, poor sleep habits and excessive alcohol consumption also contribute to aging skin.  These repetitive, deficient lifestyle choices cause cellular damage.  Oxidative stress occurs when an oxygen molecule splits into single atoms with unpaired electrons, known as free radicals.  This damage weakens living cells and tissues leaving skin and overall health vulnerable to premature aging.  Antioxidants protect the skin by reducing and counteracting free radical production.  The impact of poor nutrition on skin health is demonstrated by the incidence of skin disorders associated with nutritional deficiencies.

ACNE CONNECTION AND SKIN

Acne is a common, chronic skin disease caused by overproduction of oil (sebum) in the sebaceous follicles of the skin.  Acne presents as inflammatory and/or non-inflammatory lesions on the face, chest and back areas.

Factors leading to developing acne are:

  • Natural body oils that clog pores; hair follicles become blocked with dead skin cells.
  • Excess oil in the skin.  In adolescence, sebaceous glands enlarge and oil production increases, causing inflammation and narrowing of the lining of the hair follicles. This results in the formation of plugs at the skin surface.
  • An increase in skin bacteria, seen as redness, swelling, and including pus formation, that occurs as a result of Cutibacterium overgrowth.
  • Strong family history.
  • Hormonal imbalance.
  • Diets high in sugars and carbohydrates.

Acne treatment depends upon severity of symptoms.  Moderate to severe acne may require topical and/or oral prescription medication to prevent recurrence of lesions. The goal of treatment is to reduce or eliminate inflammation caused by bacteria, oil production and dead skin cells, and to decrease the appearance of scarring or hyper-pigmentation.

Exquis Skincare has developed Acne Clear Complexion treatment for moderate to severe acne, which I highly recommend from proven personal results. The advanced Ayurvedic plant-based treatment for acne works by targeting pores to reduce excessive oil production.  It contains natural antibacterial herbs, Turmeric and Neem, known to clear skin, to prevent future outbreaks and to even skin tone- for all ethnicities, skin types and genders!
